An American rock band, formed in 1976, The Cramps were heavily influenced by early rockabilly, rhythm and blues, and rock&roll riffs. Mixing beatnik hot fuzz from outer space with B-movie horror, lead singer Lux Interior and hot tamale guitarist Poison Ivy have influenced punk, garage, and goth music.
Made Lux from a McF Vince Neil, resculpted the face and over the torso, re-did the hair and got the stilettos from a Barbie accessory. Known for his devastating live shows, Lux would often be seen cavort'n and writh'n, wearing nuth'n on stage but a g-string, cork-screw heels and dry-hump'n some'n ferocious! His performance was always a mix of sexual danger with fiendish camp, whereas Poison Ivy always played it cool, smacking her gum and blazing her killer solos on her Gretsch guitar. Made the Queen of the Jungle from an Austin Powers Fembot, got ridda the pink nighty but kept the booby machine guns. Used a piece of garlic sac airbrushed red for the fishnet stockings, lace ribbon for the trimmings and sculpted her Manolo Blahniks.
