I wanted a Nightcrawler for my classic 80s X-Men display and, from what I gathered, the MU Nightcrawler is a bit too tall and not so well articulated.
Base : SHS Spiderman black costume (hands resculpted)
Head : MU Namor (early wave), resculpted hair
Neck : MU Ghost Rider (so he can look up and down)
Shoulders : SHS Cyclops (Spidey's were too loose)
Lower legs : SHS Cyclops + sculpt (for articulated toes)
Tail : iron wire in electric sheath + sculpted point

Poor Nightcrawler suffered from injuries in his making, his left arm broke and I had to repair with a magnetic joint, lowering his poseability. Also, his right leg is quite loose, due to the state of the original figure.
Yet, he can strike cool poses and... he can hold swords, even with his tail !
