This was maybe my 3rd attempt at making this figure. I really like the Kenner/Hasbro STAS figures. For their time they weren't too bad. But they never really fit in with the Kenner/Hasbro BTAS or TNBA figures. Which I thought they should since the animations crossed over a few times. So I'm working on making my own STAS line that blends in with the Batman figures. The mattel JLU upper body wasn't too bad. Just the stupid head with the hunched over look & those short/stumpy legs had to go. I boiled & popped the legs from a mattel TNBA Batman & did the same with Superman. I also popped the silly looking hunched over head. The " knubs " that were inserted into the crotch piece were much bigger on the Batman legs. So I had to cut/grind them down to fit into JLU supes crotch piece. Then I sculpted new underwear & boot lines. Put a Kenner V2 Superman head on & painted the entire figure. Now that's the perfect STAS Superman.

The pic with Batman was the earlier one I made with the Kenner V1 Superman head. I think that I like the look of the v2 head more. That can be a problem because those later figures are kind of tough to come by since they were only released in Europe or through Diamond back in the 90's. No problem, Geek variety is selling casts of that head.
