For this figure of Ian Astbury - Love Album - Custom Action Figure I take a The Crow Figure( with raincoat versión) , and add hair, with tinny plastic sheet I made the visor and cylindrical body of the cap, the upper part was modeled with putty. I shaped the base of the shirt and add lace on the chest, tie and cuff. I cutted, shapped and sculpted the coat, the lower part of the pants and the boots. The microphone was made of many parts of plastics cutted and glued with any parts ade with wires. The necklage was made with wire and plastic, The hands was shaped add putty and re-sculpted. Finally I painted all. I hope you enjoy it!
Well, I see several times the Rain video (I stop and capture several pics) and I find pics from this video, and after this I conclude that the color of the pants was a dark red in my opinión... In the video the illumination certainly change many times and at many moments the pants look like black, but when the lights iluminate completely Ian´s pants you can see the real color... Many thanks for your nice comments D. Martin!
Totally! If you ever decide to do another Ian Astbury figure, I'd recommend using a McFarlane Jim Morrison Figure for a base. I have thought about doing an Astbury figure, and I have a Morrison Action figure that I was thinking about using for it, and there's a bit more of a resemblance in the face. It also comes with a Mic and a Mic stand and would save you a lot of work in that department! Though you did a stellar job on the mic and mic stand doing it this way. Just a suggestion!
Thanks Davey for your comments! In a initial moment I thought to use a Jim Morrison figure but the figure have the eyes closed and his posture is very iconical about Jim Morrison. But is a logical optión to make a Astbury figure. Thanks!!!
That is freaking KICK-ASS!!!!! and Ian deserves it, he is one of the greatest singers ever and so under appreciated. GREAT WORK!!!! That lace looks FANTASTIC!!!
