I made one of these figures when I couldn't get a hold of the " rare " mattel JLU STAS Aquaman. Due to mattel's shoddy distribution that figure was pretty tough to get. I needed this guy for my STAS display. The first version I made was kind of rough. So I started this version. Well in the mean time the JLU STAS Aquaman started popping up on ebay from chinese sellers for $4 free shipping. I ordered a few & kind of pushed this figure to the side. That is until I received the figures in the mail. Just like mattel screws everything up, they also screwed up the STAS Aquaman. The figure is just way too small to actually blend in with the JLU line let alone my custom STAS line. I immediately got back to work on this guy. This was a rather easy custom. The first time I screwed up because I thought the head was one piece & I sawed it off. I soon realized after I made a mess of the figure that it popped off just like the rest of the JLU line. So this time I just popped the head off. All I really needed to do after that was remove the hook & glue a hand on, sculpt the gloves over the gold arm bands, & sculpt a neck. I used a JLU STAS head cast from Stew's Customs. Then I repainted the entire figure.
