About the Goat-man:
According to legend, Goatman is an axe-wielding, half-man, half-animal creature that was once a scientist who worked in the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center. The tale holds that he was experimenting on goats, the experiment went awry, and he began attacking cars with an axe, roaming the back roads of Beltsville, Maryland. A variation of the legend tells of Goatman as an old hermit who lives in the woods, seen walking alone at night along Fletchertown Road.

Folklorist at the University of Maryland Barry Lee Pearson said modern examples of folk legends like Goatman are most commonly generated by teenagers, and the stories end up stirring interest in sites like Fletchertown Road. As well as Maryland there also have been many sightings of the Goat-man in many other states including Kentucky,Texas,Wisconsin and New York.

Man, now this one is a blast from my past. When I was a kid, my elementary school library had a book with all sorts of cryptids in it (Mothman, Bigfoot, etc.) including the Goatman. In fact, that was the only book I've ever seen in my entire life that mentioned him. Goatman needs a new PR agent, as he's nowhere near as well known as he should be...

Anyhoo, cool MEGO-fied version of the character. I always pictured him with brown fur in my mind, but white works too. If you had a toy car in the right scale, you could take some action shots of him beating on it and terrifying its occupants, which would be cool.

Thanks Patraw(for both the praise and the story)! I think We used to have that book too,we got from School(from Schoolastic). I believe the title was American Monsters or America's Own Monsters(something along those lines),that was where I first heard of him too. I really loved the illustrations in that book, especially the Moth-man. I usually give him white hair because, otherwise he might be Mistaken for a fawn or Satyr(while this is my first Goat-man action figure,I've made him many times as a salt Shaker). I like the toy car idea, that would be cool(now I wish I kept my old Mego Bat-mobile,it would have been perfect ).
