I haven't been reading the new Scarlet Spider series, but when I heard Ben Reilly was going to reappear, I had to pick up at least that one issue. It wasn't bad, at least for seeing Ben Reilly again. And it got me thinking. I wanted to do a Scarlet Spider custom on par with the FF Spiderman release. But, his hoodie wouldn't fit on the larger body, and my sculpting is certainly not up to those standards. So, I ended up googling some images randomly and saw this. Identified as Scarlet Spider II, Joseph Wade was an FBI agent undercover with the new Dr Octopus, Carolyn Trainer. He was discovered and eventually turned into a virtual copy of Ben Reilly. After a battle with Scarlet Spider, however, the technology was damaged and he took physical form. That's around the area where the details lose me a little bit, but Ben Reilly teamed up with the New Warriors and together they took Joe Wade down, and he went into FBI custody. Short lived, but he looked really cool. Not to mention it was another chance to use my new silver some more, so I simply had to give him a shot.
