Varl is a being gifted with the ability to inspire great fear. He was selected as a member of the Sinestro Corps and was based on the planet known as Begawa in Sector 3952. Varl took great delight overseeing the torture of slaves on Begawa. He was occasionally known to use his ring to blast apart slaves with homicidal glee.

During the Sinestro Corps War he was part of the Sinestro Corps strike force led by Arkillo against Mogo, before both green and yellow ring wielders had their final battle on Earth. Though the Sinestro Corps was forced to retreat, Varl remains at large. It is believed he has returned to Begawa to continue his torture.

During The Blackest Night, Varl and his comrades joined forces with the other Lantern Corps in order to defeat Nekron and his Black Lantern Corps. Arriving on Earth, he assisted his allies in fighting against the undead Black Lanterns.

Varl was one of the many Sinestro Corpsmen gathered on Korugar, ready to invade Qward after the Weaponer robbed Sinestro of his dignity.

Hands: DC Universe Classics Maash Hands. Painted black.
Paint Job: Two Bad's purple head made for a great Sinestro Corps Soldier. The purple just popped with the yellow. I chose Maash hands because Low's were too scaly. Good coat of black and he has gloves.
