thx for liking my Ettin and for customs I know that you can look for paste like Aves Apoxie Sculpt its one of the most used products to built details it take 24 H to really be dry but gets hard enouph paint or retouch it after 34 M look at my Quake 1 vore and shambler they are customs I used Apoxie and acrylic paint do a good job but if you have a draft store near you thats a good thing and also anything can be used like any toy parts or even random objects can be usfull and also foam craft can help like my ninjas from Mortal Kombat have there outfit made with that its foam sheets that twists and easy to cut and also you can take defrent toys like the head of a gi joe and the boddy of another and more and put them togheter to get a good resemblens start ^^ and also when you get a toy for base its good to look for any resemblens like I took WWE Kane for shao kahn look for all brands and also you can find toys just like that and see a match just like that so hope it helps and don't be scared to ask more ^^
