I found that the Young Justice Artemis figure worked great as a base for my Cassandra Cain Batgirl figure and decided to use the other one I had to make a Carrie Kelley Robin. I went into this only knowing what the base would be and searched around the fodder bin for the rest of the parts. I ripped out the pouch on the side of her left leg and covered the resulting gap, as well as sanding off the knee pads. The head came from a Fantastic Four movie Invisible Woman, with the hair ripped off and new hair sculpted onto it. The glasses were from a DCD Agent Diana Prince, with the lenses recoloured green with a permanent marker so some translucency would be retained. The R symbol, belt buckle, glove cuffs and boot cuffs were all sculpted, with the clasps on her tunic cut from a sheet of blister card plastic. The "skirt" portion of her tunic was from a JLU Superman cape and the belt was an elastic band. The edge of her sleeve was made with the straps from the pouch I had just cut off. The cape was from a Batman and Robin movie Robin, with some sculpt to bridge the gap at the front, then painted yellow. I decided to make her signature handheld slingshot weapon, with sculpted-over twisty wire and then black twisty wire used for the sling. I'm pretty happy with how this came together (apart from the flesh tone on her legs) and thanks for looking as always! And yes, I know Steph is missing from the Robin lineup, I'm sorry! Please wait... |
