It’s Prime Time! It’s time again for everybody to see the power of Prime. He first appeared in the 1990’s when Malibu Comics created the Ultraverse, a universe with their own brand of superheroes. Prime is a lot like their version of DC’s Superman. He can fly, has “ultrastrength” and is the Ultraverse’s flagship character. He's also similar to DC’s Shazam in that he’s a kid who gets “Primed up” to turn into an adult hero yet still with the mind of a teenager. Though his look is very different because he’s got an extremely muscular build. Marvel and Malibu comics did have some crossover books. On the covers of these comics Prime stood next to Captain America or Wolverine. Other comics showed Prime battling Thor or the Hulk. I had this figure in the works for a long time and finally had the incentive to finish him for entry into the Super Clones custom contest. Parts used: head – DC Direct Superfriends Aquaman torso and arms – Dragon Ball Z Roshi waist and legs – Colossus with sculpting on thighs and knees wrist gauntlets and boots – Colossus knee pads with some sculpting shoulder armor – DCU Lord Naga chest armor – a Roman soldier from the dollar store belt armor – Marvel Legends Terrax cape – Marvel Legends Thor Enjoy this trip back to the Ultraverse to revisit this overly muscular hero! Thank you all for checking out Prime and voting on the Super Clones customs. ![]() |
