Magus and the Living Tribunal (Marvel Universe) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:56210
Name:Magus and the Living Tribunal
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Universe
Creator:GDX
Date Added:December 6, 2013
Base Figure:Marvel Universe Adam Warlock and Marvel Legends Icon Silver Surfer
Height:16.00 inches
The inspiration for doing this set was recently reading "The Infinity War" epic event from the 90's, and playing the SNES game "Marvel Super Heroes: War of The Gems" (that featured Magus as a boss). I like doing giant sized characters. The Marvel Legends Icons figures work so well as giants for both Marvel Legends and Marvel Universe scale. Silver Surfer was used for Living Tribunal. Initially, I had the big idea to actually float Tribunal's head using magnets, but it proved to be a bit expensive and beyond my skill set. Eventually I'll do it:) Instead, I used a acrylic rod to simulate his floating head. I cast his face twice with simple press molds to get his triple head thing going on, and the hood is actually cloth, but stiffened. Magus started life as an Adam Warlock figure, which is fitting, because that's who he is essentially. I sculpted detail for the boots, belt and shoulders, and gave him an Infinity Gauntlet accessory, repainted with more detail. The head is from StarWarsgeek, with some modifications (the head had sculpted in scars, I filled them). Thanks for checking my work out!

There have been some good Living Tribunals here on the Realm, but t6his one stands out for a dynamic paintjob with deep shading on his body, and a really great job on the head. Love the look on his main exposed face and really like how that fabric cover came out. A fave.

Big fan of your work here, what is once more justified!! ...may I ask you what material you have used for the mold? Couldn't find any tutorials here on that , only one with hot glue on the web...and also ,to stiffen fabric , how do you do it? Thanks a lot for sharing your work !
