I've always wanted to do this custom and this contest pretty much motivated me to finally create it. I took the Indigo Lantern action figure (the only ones kids don't want at Toys R Us)and began by sanding off all the tattoos as well as shaving down those awesome bellbottoms pants. I sculpted all the winged parts from apoxie sculpt and helped form boots. A few layers of paint and he's off to deliver those messages for the gods!
I think you have a really clever and original design for a custom Hermes Flash, great idea! Also, you have the best speed effects pictures I've ever seen.
Really cool piece; I love the concept and the mythologically appropriate detailing/accessories. I also liked the somewhat similar DC Direct Kingdom Come Hermese-esque interpretation of the Flash, but that one was molded from translucent red plastic and very basic in appearance. Your figure is much more visually interesting and dynamic; great work!
Oh yeah, that speed blur photo with the other Flashes is pretty cool too.
Ya that blurry photo was a lot of fun to put together. I love me some speedster blur lines. Kingdom Come flash is a pretty cool figure, at some point I'd like to install a red LED inside and make the whole thing illuminate! A cool nightlight perhaps
Yeah, a LED-lit Flash would be cool. Instead of putting the light inside the figure, maybe you could just do it with a base, like a McFarlane HALO Cortana? As long as the light is bright enough, it should diffuse through the entire translucent figure through the feet.
