I repainted the X-Force Wolverine to his uncanny X-men costume. Sculpted the tiger stripes. Hardest part was painting yellow. That was the most fraustrating custom experience I had.
Great job! Better than the one released. Yellow is hands down a customizer's nightmare. As stated before me, a base coat is always needed.... I use enamel spray paint- do a neutral grey, let dry, then the yellow---- that way everything is evenly based- then you can go in and do your other colors via brush.
Let me share with you a tip on what I do when I'm painting yellow; first I apply a terracotta color coat, then drybrush white and finally drybrush the yellow color. What you'll get is a great yellow with shaded effect. Anyway, your Wolverine looks awesome!!
This is a very interesting tip and I'd like to give it a whirl at some point. What do you use for the terracotta color coat? Do you have any brand suggestions?
