This is an original take on a favorite character of mine. Taj was one of the vampire hunters in the original Tomb of Dracula series. He's a big, strong, mute indian man, who's really cool, and what really drew me to him was the fact that I thought he was going to be killed off at any moment, but he survived the series.
Although, years later, in the last couple of issues of Nightstalkers, he reappeared, only to be revealed to be a vampire and he was killed.
It sucked. And since I only make characters that are still alive form my Midnight Sons team, I hadn't planned on making Taj, but then something unexpected happened.
In the new Blade series, in the last issue, something is done to ressurrect ALL vampires Blade has ever killed. At first I thought "that is not cool more than words can say", but then I thought of something, quickly checked in Nightstalkers #18, where it's clear that it is Blade that kills Taj, which means that Taj is back in the Marvel Universe as a vampire.
My view on it and thought for this figure is that Taj, still a vampire but no longer under the control of the Lord of Vampires; Varnae, has taken up vampire hunting again and that's how I imagine this figure. Hannibal King and Blade are both vampires that hunt vampires, so why not Taj too?

I used a head from a Lord of the Rings figure, modified it quite a bit and added a beard and a turban.
The body is from Kraven, except for the arms that are from a wrestler.
It felt like a simple custom since I didn't sculpt a lot of stuff on the body, not even the boots, which was a bit lazy but whatever.
I only sculpted a scar on his chest where I imagine Blade stabbed him. I remember Hannibal King having a scar on his neck after being ressurrected after Blade had decapitated him during the Midnight Massacre, and I wanted to add something, so I made the scar.

I'm pretty happy with the figure, it's not one of my best, but it doesn't suck either.
