Orchid Ironshell is the daughter of Slash. Born with a shell and skin of a living metallic substance, she is invulnerable to most physical damage as well as extremes of heat and cold, and most all types of ballistic weaponry. Her physique, while impressive, only hints at her real power. Although she does not know her upper limits, she has lifted and thrown a train engine in the heat of battle, crushing a squadron of Triceratons before they could bring their weaponry into play, and she can shred T4 steel plate and snap chain or cable with ease. Much like the Hulk, she can travel the fastest by jumping great distances. Her mother So'otuni is a tortoise Goddess, also known as Galapagos Girl when she was an active ninja operative, making Orchid both alien turtle and tortoise Goddess in equal parts. She fights against strip mining with her father as well as helping with the family coconut palm farm operation in the tropics.

Made from a Leonardo pizza shooter figure with new 1/6th scale TMNT arms and a random turtle head. Lots of pc marine sculpt, wanted the shell to be tortoise-like and brightly colored. Painted with acrylic paint, shell painted by my girlfriend, first time using wash and drybrush techniques for her.

Thanks for reading!

Awesome idea for a character and I Love that you brought your own vision of the proportions to Life. Well done!

The more I look at this beauty, the more I like it! There's something uniquely intriguing about its proportions. Thanks for posting this cool work-of-art, brother!
If you could alternate her current head with a larger turtle head, I believe it might flow together nicely.

I am reworking a completely new headsculpt for her, also sculpting Galapagos Girl head and IDK style Slash heads to complete the family, need to have both family resemblance and galapagos tortoise look to make me happy Pretty excited about my headsculpts for Slash, cannot wait to complete things and show the whole family group, also working on a tiny "baby" boy for my imaginary family, just had a little boy of my own in the real world, he is one month old. Galapagos Girl is almost ready to post, detail sculpting over hard/connective epoxy sculpt, then paints. Thanks for the great comments sir!

Your work is very very inspiring to me, as well as your productivity. I really like all of the female hero figures you represent with your skills, very impressive to see all that you do in 4" scale, consistent and quality art level product, beautiful. Means a lot to me that you even look at my stuff, thanks!

Great original character. I think she would work perfectly in the new series. Awesome paint job.

Thanks! Working on a Slash custom as well, hoping to do justice to the new comic art. Sort of blended old and new Slash TMNT mythology for my storyline, actually really liked the alien ecoterrorist angle, glad that Slash still loves palm trees, figured that a coconut plantation would be a pretty cool place for him to start a family. The new comic art is amazing so I hope that I can do it justice

Normally, I don't like exaggerated body proportions like this, however, in this case, I think it works really well for the character. Definitely one of the more impressive TMNT customs I've seen in a while; excellent job!

Thank you! I am really glad that you still liked it! Sadly I tend to produce some pretty distorted figures in a proportional sense Fat guys, really tall skinny figures, monsters, and arms that are too big. Conversely, I am studying classical sculpting proportions measured in head lengths, landmarks, etc to try and improve my figures. I do try and make things flow together if I can. Thanks again!

Wow! Thank you, I worked really hard on improving my painting skill on this piece, used four separate washes and drybrushed more times than that, detail painted with a needle, tried to paint nice smooth transition lines, hoping to add definition outlines in black on next figure. Painting has been my kryptonite so a compliment on paint means a lot to me. Glad you like!

Thanks! Making this one was a lot of fun for me and my gf. Lots of things I would improve if I started right now, most especially I would sculpt a full socket for the shoulder out of apoxie to make the arms have a more custom fit. Also want to add both elbow and knee articulation but cut joints would not work very well with this figure, knees too flexed, arms too heavy.
