I had an extra NFL Probot and I really liked warrack's Sentinel design, so I decided to try my hand at it.

The goal here was to make a heavier Sentinel type unity and to make him rough looking. I wanted him dirty, dinged up and unsymmetrical. This guy has been through lots of battles with mutants, he's been repaired, repainted and recommissioned numerous times and that's what I wanted to show.

The base figure was an NFL Probot. Good figure, good articulation and fun to work with. Only one gripe, but that will come up later.

His head was taken apart and resculpted with the new Sentinel face, he received a whole new paint job and was sealed many times. In addition, where he originally held his football, I opened the hole wider and gave him a removable whip, make from an Avp Wolf whip. I also chose to keep the shoulder pads on him to give him that heavier look; apoxing them on to make sure they stay on.

The most annoying part was painting. The Probot is a great figure, but some of it's areas are hard to reach with a paintbrush. This guy was originally all red and took lots of purple paint to get all that area. I actually broke one of my own rules by using purple Apple Barrel paint instead of the higher quality paint that I usually use just because I was using so much. Fortunately, by mixing it with a little amount of better quality paint, and sealing it all, the paint scheme is on there good and tight, looks good and isn't scraping off at all.

As for the areas where I couldn't quite reach with my brush, specifically the insides of some of the tighter areas, I dropped in a few heavy washes that darkened the original red and made it look more like rust-which helps with the whole worn look!
