May I present my take on Dracula. I love the character of Dracula but I am not a huge fan of the Bella Lugosi/Universal look, and whilst I like the warrior Dracula/Vlad look that I have seen done before, I wanted to make my own version of the character. The novel is set in the Victoria era but Dracula is far older than that, and living in the Transylvanian mountains I figured he wasn't so up to date on the fashion front so I went for an 18th Century look as I have always liked the style of that period and used a Pirates of the Caribbean Blackbeard figure as the base. I sculpted the lace frills of his shirt, painted the lace shirt cuffs and attached a broach from a Galadriel figure, as it looked sort of bat like, at the neck. I used an earring stud with a skull and added it to the belt buckle. I attached the Castlevania Dracula head and hands as I really liked the sculpt. I was going to paint the hair black, but I actually really liked the contrast of the white hair with the black outfit so kept it. I didn't want to go full on gore but I wanted to bloody him up a bit. I have never painted blood before, I used clear red acrylic mixed with brown ink and I really liked the finished look. I gave the whole figure a paint touch up. I added a glass from a playmobile set and filled it with "blood", a bloodied up a pirates sword, the bat from the castlevania figure and a gargoyle whose eyes i painted to glow in the dark as his accessories. Soon he will be joined by Lucy Westenra as his victim. Stay tuned, thanks for looking. Please wait... |
