Deathlok (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:60568
Name:Deathlok
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:Jin Saotome
Date Added:April 19, 2014
Base Figure:extremis iron man
Height:6.00 inches
He's part man, part machine, but all deadly! Here's a custom Marvel Legends Deathlok figure that's sure to blow away the competition. He was created from an Extremis Iron Man upper body, Titanium Man lower body, DCU Mr Freeze boots, Mortal Kombat Jax arms, and a retooled ML Deathlok head and backpack. The head originally had an open mouth but it's been closed for a new look. Various hoses and wires were added all over him and a tiny classic SHIELD logo was added to his chest just like the art. A little bit of weathering adds to Deathlok's mechanical appearance and this robotic warrior is ready to fight!

WOW--Definitely one of the COOLEST ideas and concepts for this dude! Not that I'm surprised, coming from YOU, LOL. I AM impressed with how good he looks--You totally created a nice fresh look at this guy while keeping him thematically CLASSIC!

Genius use of the Jax figure's arms to turn into Deathlok! Actually all your parts usage was brilliant.

Thank you, I had to clip the shoulder discs off of Iron Man and transplant them to jax's arm pegs. But it worked!

Only thing I'd like to change next round are the hands, I'd like more robotically detailed ones.

Nice John. How'd you do the SHIELD logo?
avatar

Saturday, April 19, 2014
Used freeware Photoshop CS2 to shrink the logo, printed it out on Testors white back decal paper, sprayed with the decal fixative then trimmed to fit. You can also print out on photo paper, spray the front with clear spray paint, sand the back lightly, cut out and use 3M spray adhesive tho it'll be a little thicker than a decal.

Thanks! I don't usually do a lot of wip shots, he was pretty close to these colors to start with anyway based on the parts I used.
