What's really cool about the punisher is that there's so many different interpretations of him (much like Batman).

From the first appearance in Spiderman to John Romita Jr's iconic version to the Bradstreet Punisher..and so on. The latest "trend" has been to portray the Punisher essentially in a special forces styling. The t-shirt, the tactical vest, the faded skull emblem..etc. Right before that Rucka's run on the Punisher gave us a more high tech "Metal Gear-ized" Punisher (which I like a lot too.).

But I always come back to the Joe Jusko, John Romita Jr version. The sleek black look with the prominent white skull. That's the Punisher look I like the best.

I wanted a more modern take on the Jusko/Romita style Punisher...and after I saw The Winter Soldier movie..I got inspired for this version. I didn't want the street version of the Punsher with street pants, tshirt and long coat, I wanted a combat version. I love how the Winter Soldier could keep drawing on so many weapons during a fire-fight and I wanted my Punisher to do the same. So my Punisher here has enough ordnance on him to take out a small municipality.

And what's the Punisher without the biggest pain in his neck..Nick Fury watching his every move?

Here's the recipe:

Torso: Face Off Punisher
Head: Current Marvel Legends Punisher
Arms: Steve Rogers
Upper Legs: Drax
Lower Legs: Movie Winter Soldier
I wanted to keep as much of the equipment from the Toybiz Movie Punisher as I could because it's so versatile..I love that tactical holster for his trade mark 1911 pistol and it had to be part of his kit on my Punisher here. I also wanted a modern take on the Uzi he so often depicted using, so I went for an MP9 which he can draw from a holster on his back..just like the Winter Soldier does in the movie. And the rest is fodder from the fodder bin.

I really like how he turned out and he's become my favorite Punisher figure.

Anyway..thanks for looking, hope you guys like the custom and I'm looking forward to your comments.

He's so well-armed, he makes Thomas Jane look under-equipped!

Thank you so much for the compliments guys. I make customs of figures I really need or that the companies just haven't produced in a way I want to see done. The Punisher is one of my favorite comic book characters and I wanted to share what is now my favorite Punisher figure in my collection with you guys. You're all great customizers so the compliments from you mean a lot. Cheers.

Great to see you back with more, and a really cool Punisher too! He's got lots of firearms. Reminds me of the classic Mike Zeck Punisher style.

Forgot to mention...the M60 machine gun I made is a salute to the one Dolph Lundgren uses in the 1989 Punisher movie. It doesn't get cooler than an M60 with a grenade launcher attached...lol.

Yeah I have a soft spot for the Dolph Lundgren Punisher. I think it makes it more fun to know the kinds of weapons the characters use and how realistically they could carry and draw them in a combat situation...I know..I know..these are action figures..lol.
