Irelia, the Will of the Blades (League of Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #: | 62517 | Name: | Irelia, the Will of the Blades | Custom Type: | Action Figure | Toy Series: | League of Legends | Creator: | Luigi87 | Date Added: | June 14, 2014 | Base Figure: | DC Unlimited Wonder Woman | Height: | 6.00 inches |
Used the DC Unlimited Wonder Woman figure as a base. Boiled her head to remove her hair. All additional armor pieces and her weapon were sculpted using Aves Apoxie Sculpt. Paints were a mix of Tamiya acrylics, and Testors Model Masters. Her hands came from additional unused hands of a KOS-MOS figma. This is my first custom figure I've ever made. I chose Irelia as she is my favourite champion in League of Legends, and I accepted that there will never be an official figure of her, so I thought "Why not make my own?" She's quite rough, but I'm quite pleased with the final product. I learned a lot of what I should and shouldn't do in future endeavours. The front piece of armor, and her two small pauldrons broke off several times until I managed to finally secure them in place with the right combination of krazy glue, and apoxie (for the former). Unfortunately as none of her lower armor is articulated to move, her range of leg movement is very limited. The same also applies to her neck, as her hair is sculpted in a way that it prevents her head from turning. Right as I was applying the final touch (highlighting her eyes with white paint), I picked up the bottle to cap it, it slipped my grip, and ruined my favourite shorts. After I settled from fuming I looked at my figure and noticed white had splashed onto her ruining several areas of paint. So I needed to repaint certain sections in an emergency repair. And it is encouraging to hear how many others have also suffered a paint splat incident. Sucks for everyone definitely, but lessons are certainly learned!
