Quick and dirty; I came home from picking up Superman at Target and gave him a black wash on the boots, belt/briefs and cape. Then I masked off the top half of his head and hands and gave him a few coats of black overspray to just kinda dust him with flat black. And that is really it. Shown side by side for comparison. I still really wish they had done these as 6"... but you all know that :)
Cool! I'm waiting for the prices on ebay to go down on this one before I pick one up, but when I do, I will definitely fix the one BIG screw-up Mattel made with this figure (aside from the scale which is moot at this point) and that is to slice off that horrendous chest symbol and make a proper one. I thought they really blew it there when it was such an easy part to get right.
Actually I kinda want 7 inch ones to go with my NECA movie figures (want him posed next to RoboCop, Predator and such) but yeah. This is a fun lil custom. I definitely want one of these figures when they come out here purely just cos it's Reeve. Actually looking at this custom I may buy two.
