Started with dark wash, added layers of different colors to highlight the body features. Added real leather for the accessories. Included padding and wrap around arms and legs. Used acrylic paints (Testors).
How did you do the wrap on his sais? Is that how it comes normally, or did you apply something to it? I've been using masking tape on mine and it works okay... but I feel like there's a better option out there.
It's actually the factory mold. I used sharpie paint pen on the handle and then added a mixture of gloss black and varnish to the weapon (a dark wash). The varnish and black turns simple grey plastic into a weathered looking metal. It's really cool. Good luck!
Thanks for the complimens. This is the first custom I've posted here. I have quite a few different projects to post. Just figuring the site out. Oh and all of his brothers have been finished as well. Love seeing everyone's work too!
Brother, this is an exquisite piece.... I really love this Raph of yours. He looks just as I saw him in the movie this past weekend. Raph is my favorite TMNT and is the one I relate to the most.
