As this was my first ever attempt at attacking an action figure, I figured I best start with something simple so, Leo had a little repaint. To achieve the look I wanted (grubby, dark, almost graphic novel-esc) I used simple washes in black and green. I allowed them to dry a little before using cotton buds (q-tips) and a little nail polish remover to create the affect you see. Please wait... |

I need some help if possible please?
I have my own set of 2014 movie figures and want to do the same as you have done. you guys talk about "wash over". this is what I want to do with my figures but what exactly is this? is it a product I can buy somewhere and will this come off?
I want to create the dirty look on the Turtles.
would appreciate if you could assist...im desperate!
thank you!
I don't know if it is the right method but I will tell you how I did it.
I watered down some Tamiya flat black with a little water to make a slightly thinner consistancy than normal, then I applied it to the figure and allowed it to dry for 20-30 minutes. Then I used some cotton pads with a little water (or nail polish remover for stubborn bits) to remove the 'excess' from the figure... As I say, I don't know if it is the 'correct' method but, it was my first time!
Hope that helps!
I've just seen the classic film line too and need them! Sadly, they don't seem to have made it to England just yet
