Woof, been working on this one forever it seems. Just got my place back and my art stuff finally all out of storage.
I thought the new larger female body that they used for Black Cat would work great for Captain Marvel. Apparently Hasbro agreed since they had something pretty similar done at SDCC. I used hair from a WWE Natalya, casted head and hands from Moonstone, some LOTR Eowyn boots (that I made sockets adaptors for), and the sashes were random fodder. The torso had to be resculpted, as well as the gloves and boots. I'm glad I put in the sculpt-work since Carol's new costume seems like it had a lot of detail, and I like the folds in the arms/legs that this body had going for it anyway.

As always your work is a stunning piece of modern art. I've always wanted to ask if you use an airbrush on the main body and limbs and then hand paint finer details or if it's all by hand. I myself am new to custom work and have never used an airbrush before so I hand paint eveything I make. Thanks for all your hard work. You are an inspiration.
Usually I block in the main colors and two-tone shades with an airbrush. I keep the paint mixes I use, then basically roll back in and clean up the basetones by hand. After that I'll handbrush the highlights, then after that I do the really small details. Takes forever, but I'm always glad when the paintjob comes out nicely.
Such a beautiful creation! She could easily be a template for a Ms. Marvel movie character and costume. Rendered properly, she would make a great video game character as well. I really love the detail you put into her and the clean look you gave her. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks! I don't know who's casting hands, but I'm decent enough to cast a solid piece like a head, fist, or foot like this. Totally lost the wrist hinge and just converted it to a swivel though.
Wow what a great custom. Liked your previous version also but this one is even better. Would so rather buy this one than the Hasbro one but lack of income prevents that. lol. Great job and Kamala looks great too!
