Super late on this one. I actually started this way back in '06 and forgot about it until I found it in an old box of toys a couple weeks ago and decided to finish it. Starting with the Roger figure, i resculpted the chest, torso, pelvis, upper legs, and feet using magic sculpt. I also cut off the hands at the wrist and completely resculpted them to reduce the overall size significantly. Lastly and obviously, I almost completely resculpted the head, which took the bulk of the time on this. Anyway, hope you guys like this, even though its 8 years late haha.
Awesome. I've been wanting to make one ever since the Iron Cow version back in the day, this looks even MORE like Mignola's work, if that's even possible! Love it!!
Thanks guys!! This was a labor of love, and I'm pretty happy with it. I would really love to do more mignola style hellboy customs, but the base figures are ridiculously expensive now. I want to do Baba Yaga next, but I might haven to do it from scratch
Gorgeous. Great sculpting and judgment all around - and I'm really diggin that belt! If you feel even more daring, not that he needs it, try some well placed bold black paint lines - like the B&W statue to accentuate that Mignola style. Plenty beautiful regardless. Glad you revisited him. ~phin
Thanks Phineas! I actually did consider doing the forced perspective shadows, but I decided against it so that it would better fit with the rest of my mezco comic hellboy collection. But thanks for the suggestion!!
