Maximus Decimus Meridius - Gladiator CMC 1st Place at Toy Soup : He was made from a Beowulf head and Conan body. I first dremled the head then sculted the hair with aves. The hardest part was crafting his slave armor the one before the galdiator armor. I used a fine blue cloth and frayed the edges with a tooth brush/finger. I then cut a lot of leather strips to make his outfit. The end result was a Badass Maxius ready for battle.
z's customs: Hell ya you should join your art is awesome. redmist: Thank you very much bro. Punstarr: Black leather makes everything look cool just not the biker in the village people Go Figure Customs: I suggest looking at every custom Glorbes made and you could learn a lot its what I did. But when you put the leather on you have to glue it to the body and pull on it to make it tight thats the key.
Great job chief! I have always considered using real leather and cloth for customs but was afraid it would look cheesy or like a fake barbie doll,,,,,, you really pulled it off! Awesome job and congrats!!!!!
Maximus also landed me a CMC 1st place finish at Toy Soup Kyle Robinson: Thank you for putting on such great contests each month and the great prize support Maelstrom: The beard was a freaking me out when my lady said it was too dark. I thought there goes my shot at winning. When I make the next armor the cool mask and chest piece I will fix it.
That looks FREAKIN' AWESOME! One suggestion, though, it looks like his hair and beard are almost jet-black. It might look more accurate if it was toned down just a notch.
