Did an updated Kitty Pryde. Forgot how hard it was to paint yellow, but she came out clean, then I forgot how hard it was to photograph it! Completely blew out the shading somehow. Anyways, I made her with a Black Widow head, Spider-Girl ponytail, a (Rocket Racoon wave) Jean Grey upper torso and belt, (All-New) Marvel Girl arms, and a Mystique lower body. Pretty much zero paint rub that way. I sculpted all the hair except the ponytail.
Thanks so much! I was super happy with how pretty she ended up looking. I thought she was going to turn out sort of plain, but I'm a lot happier with how the work went than I thought I'd be.
You beat me to the punch lol I finished mine about a month ago but haven't had the chance to take pictures. I used most of the same parts except the head, but this blows mine away. Nice smooth sculpting work on the hair and the shoulder pads. You make it look so easy lol. Awesome stuff Ray
Hah, yea, I did make it sound sort of easy. Those shoulder pads were really touch and go! I was dead set on using the original plastic (for flexibility) so I actually just dremeled the Jean Grey ones down until they were the right shape, then really carefully dremeled them until they were just about 1mm thick around. Hope to see yours soon!
Beautiful Kitty!!! I've always liked her better with the ponytail. I can't tell you how awesome it is to see your work again here on the Realm. You have been sorely missed.
Kitty Pryde is one of my favorite characters, so I love seeing awesome customs of her. As always, your work is brilliantly phenomenal. It's my favorite design of hers and you executed it flawlessly. Absolutely love it!
Yea, I like this costume of hers the best. I think it's the only one that actually got better after Astonishing X-men! They just changed a few details here or there, but now she looks better in the comics than she ever has.
Wish I'd had a custom Rachel Grey and Rogue around for that last shot...but then again I kinda hate Rachel's costume now and I might have a Rogue soon...
Thanks! They turned out really nice. I wish the haircut (as photographed) didn't cast so much shadow over the other eye. I actually sculpted and painted the bangs separately and attached them last so I could make sure the eyes, eyebrows, and makeup were all symmetrical. And then nobody got to see any of it!

And you beat me to it, I made one too but with a different recipe haha
