As my Disney Action Figure custom collection is expanding, I thought it about time to reveal the identity of the main villain who has been alluded to several times in my stories. No less than Queen Grimhilde of Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

From a young age Grimhilde showed exceptional talents in the magic arts and became apprentice to the powerful Sorcerer Yensid in the Far Away Mountains. Smart and resourceful, she learnt quickly under Yensid’s watchful eye. As her powers grew with each passing year so did her beauty, until she was a stunning young woman with long raven hair, flashing green eyes and porcelain skin. Her skills with charms and potions and her beauty meant she became very admired by those who visited Yensid seeking his advice, but she refused all their advances preferring to focus on her powers and learning. However, skilled as she was, Yensid believed she had much more to learn before she could be a Sorceress in her own right.
But Grimhilde became bored of being a mere apprentice. She wanted more and her thirst for knowledge had led her into studding materials that were of a dark and more sinister nature. Materials that Yensid had refused to teach her and so she studied in secret when the Sorcerer slept or was away in the Dwarf Mines. Knowledge was power and Grimhilde wanted it all. A large gilt mirror hung on the wall of her chambers. The mirror was enchanted, a spirit lived in its reflective depths and it could show the past, present and possible futures. Looking into it one day, Grimhilde was shown the King of a nearby Kingdom, a new born Princess cradled in his arms, mourning over the Queen who had died in childbirth. Was this Grimhilde’s chance at more? Why else would the mirror show her if it wasn’t to be so?

Grimhilde packed her things, and leaving the mountains and Yensid behind, she waited by a river in the forests near the King’s castle and made sure that he saw her whilst out on a hunting trip. It didn’t take much, just a tiny forbidden love potion slipped into his water to cloud his judgement and her beauty did the rest, for when the King laid eye upon her, he declared her the fairest of them all and that she would be his new wife. As Queen, Grimhilde revelled in her new title, for now she believed she had it all, beauty, wealth and power. Her mirror hung now on the walls of her boudoir and every day she would look into it and say “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?” and the mirror would always answer “You are my Queen, the fairest in the land.” Happy in this knowledge, she lived in relative contentment for some years, dabbling in magic in secret in the dungeons, keeping the King enthralled with her powers. However the spell couldn’t make the King truly love her, not like the love he had for his daughter the Princess Snow White or his first wife, it was a false love but that was enough for Grimhilde whose only love was power.

When the King was killed in battle with a far off land, Grimhilde felt little remorse as she now had control of the whole Kingdom. Several years passed and Snow White was all but neglected by the Queen, who became more and more obsessed with her youth and beauty with each passing day, spending the Kingdoms treasury on expensive tonics and lotions, dresses and jewellery with the aim of looking always young and beautiful. One morning when asking the Mirror, who was the fairest in the land, the mirror stunned her with the answer “Famed is thy beauty, Majesty but hold, a lovely maid I see, alas! She is fairer than thee, with rose red lips, skin white as snow and hair black as ebony.” The Queen was enraged, Snow White fairer than she?! She sent for her huntsman to take Snow White deep into the forest and cut out her heart, believing its consumption will give her Snow's beauty.

The events which followed are now the stuff of fairy tales, and everyone knows what happened to Show White, however it is what became of Grimhilde that is less known. For when the vain Queen used a magic potion to disguise herself as an old pedlar woman to trick Snow White into eating the poisoned apple, the evil Queen in her haste to end Snow’s life, made one terrible mistake. When the time came for the effects of the potion to wear off and she was still a crooked old hag, she realized her error, she had made the potion far too strong and she was to remain a hideous old woman forever. Devastated by the loss of her beauty, she took comfort in the knowledge that Snow White was dead. Looking into her magic mirror to gloat over the pain she caused, the spirit in the mirror showed her to her horror, Snow White being awakened by loves first kiss by a nobel Prince. A warrant for the fallen Queen’s arrest was put out and armed guards stormed the castle, only to find her and her magic mirror gone, a search was made throughout the land but no trace was found. Snow White married her Prince Florian and became rulers of the Kingdom of Fantasia. For many years they have ruled with peace, love and kindness and with each passing year, the memories of the Evil Queen Grimhilde faded, until she was all but forgotten.

But now, deep within the Haunted Forest at the furthest edges of the Kingdom, a dark presence has been gathering strength and plotting. The Hag has been binding her time, watching in her mirror, waiting for a sign, a sign that it is the right time to make her presence known again and reclaim the Kingdom that was once hers.
But now she doesn't just want to stop there, she wants to take control of the whole realm, regain her former beauty and destroy the hopes and wishes of those who have long forgotten her power.

Recipe: Galadriel head, body and arms, legs removed to make her shorter, heavy sculpting on her face with sculpey. Hair, sculpy and Wanda ringlets. Dress, 2 Ring Wraith robes cut up and reassembled. Poisoned Apple, greenstuff coloured with sharpey pen. Magic Mirror, christmas decoration.

Update: Created a base out of a Spawn Wanda base, added "spirit skull" to Mirror, added a gargoyle and candle. "Ruby" added to Hag's broach.

Dude this cool tale only needed the hardbound cover , FANTASTIC STORY!!! , and the Hag is just as cool (got to love the Lord of the Rings , great books , great movies and most importantly for us customizers great toys!) , there is nothing better for story telling than revenge and a classic villain moving her invisible strings to achieve it . Bravo my friend , can't wait to see what's next!!!
