The World Engine was an ancient piece of Kryptonian technology designed to terraform an uninhabited or inhabited world into one with an identical atmosphere and land to that of the planet Krypton.

The Quick Shots Battle for Metropolis playset from Mattel was released in 2013. I bought it thinking that it would make a great display/background piece for my Movie Masters figures providing I put some work into it.

I completely disassembled and painted the entire playset using a textured spray paint (I used up 2 cans) and attached a LED lamp at the bottom to simulate the energy blast. I removed pretty much all the play features, which I didn't really care for, in an effort to keep it more realistic and also to make room for the LED lamp.

Finally, I did a little bit of silver dry brushing all around to give it even more texture and not have it look pristine.

All the flaps still move to reveal the core of the World Engine and the lamp is attached using a simple magnet, which allows for easy removal to replace the batteries.
