The owner of my LCS wasn't happy with the release of the original coin bank, so the next time I gave him a call to see what comics had come in for the week he asked me if I'd be interested in punching it up and seeing if anyone would be interested in picking it up afterwards. I agreed and we split a profit of $30 each when it sold to a very loyal customer of his, and a very good friend of us both!

I sculpted several maggots (I don't remember exactly how many but there's a lot) unfortunately they're not easy to see/find in the blood photos, much easier in person. There are a few in and crawling into his mouth and one going up his nostril. Those maggots and the eye ball he's chewing on were all sculpted in Aves Fixit Sculpt. Afterwards I repainted the entire figure with washes, dry brushing and later added dirt, dust and weathering tricks to the paint job. Used Citadel Colour/Games Workshop Rotting Flesh mixed with Bubonic Brown and Testors Shadow Skin Tone for the flesh. Dry brushed a final thin layer of Rotting Flesh when the washes settled. Gloss coated the eye in his mouth to make it look wet, but left his own matte after painting them to make them look dried out.

The teeth, spinal cord, skull and humerus were all painted with Bleached Bone, several washes and a light layer of skull white dry brushed in certain areas.

And finally I smeared and splattered the Hell out of him with thinned down Tamiya Clear Red, which I would like to thank and credit Jin Saotome for teaching me how to do via e-mail! Thanks Jin :) The blood did make it hard to see some of the effort that went into the paint job, but the way I see it, it helps accurately portray what these areas would look like while shining through all that blood.

I tried to make the coin slot look like an exit wound with how the blood runs down from the length of the slot. I also tried to make a hand print on his right shoulder to look like a victim was fighting back.

After removing the painters tape from the base the owner of the shop gave me a second coin bank to take photos with for a side by side comparison. I big thank you to him as well!
