Maaaann....this one was a doozy.

This is my third Blade custom, lol..but I saw Liquid808's use of the Kaiyodo Vash figure for his Darth Maul custom, and suddenly I had an epiphany, and started on this bad boy right away.

The BIGGEST hurdle to this figure though, was the complete lack of a LOWER TORSO on the Vash figure. His legs are basically just screwed into his trench coat, lol.

I wanted to approach this with certain inspirations in place. One of my BIGGEST inspirations was Humberto Ramos. I LOVE his style, and wanted to keep very close to what I thought Ramos might do if he was designing Blade, including a long, bendy/posable sash/belt! I stuck to lots of big, oversized pieces for that kind of look, including the big katanas (thank you Casting Cave!!). Recipe is as follows:

Body: Vash the Stampede Kaiyodo figure
Lower torso/upper legs/neck: Madame Masque
Lower legs: Vash the stampede legs, chopped in half, drilled out to make a knee joint.
Hands & throwing knives: Kick Ass 2 Hit Girl
Head: Modded YJ Aqualad
Shades: ML Wesley Snipes version Blade figure



My favorite part of this entire figure is the fact that all the sheathed weapons are removable & fit in Blade's hands. The katanas attach to the back via the knife holders from the ROML Drax figure's belt, which I glued on to the back of the figure.

All that wrapped up in a fun paint job, with special 'glowy' eyes!
