Vandal Savage is something of a big-time Justice League villain and I wanted to create a custom action figure of the character. This is based mostly on his Young Justice look, with the main difference being the head. Vandal Savage is an immortal caveman, so I thought a scraggly beard does work for him. Also, he did at one point assume the identity of "Blackbeard", and actor Ian McShane has been suggested for the part should the character ever appear in a live-action Justice League movie. So, the head from the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Blackbeard, as played by Ian McShane, seemed like an appropriate choice (though it is a smidge oversized for the scale). Repainted the face and painted on the scars. The base figure is a Mr. Impossible with lower arms and lower legs from a ML Baron Zemo. The right hand is from a DCUC Injustice Aquaman. The center of his coat is made with strips of red craft pleather. The extension of his coat and the belt is made of black craft pleather. Sculpted fabric texture onto the arms and upper legs. Sculpted the collar, epaulets and belt buckle. His sword is made with the handle from a Martha Washington sword, with the chunky plastic "blade" cut off and replaced with one cut from blister packaging plastic. In the second photo, he stands alongside slightly-less-immortal fellow rogue (whom he replaced in Justice League: Doom, the adaptation of the Tower of Babel arc) Ra's al Ghul. Thanks for looking!
