Well, my friend Robert who commissioned me to make the Serial Batman figures earlier this year asked me to make a George Reeves figure to go with them. I'm PRAYING he doesn't want a Kirk Alyn because it's basically the same design and this dude took months to make!
OK...using a DCUC White Lantern Flash, I added a highly modified DCUC Lightray head and then began the journey of a thousand miles worth of sculpting. The entire suit is sculpted. GR's suit was a ribbed fabric with about a million seams! It's ALL sculpted here. On the chest symbol and cape symbol, once I'd sculpted them, I useda pice of a sweater to create the fuzzy texture that the original suit had. That added alot to the realism. Everything is sculpted all the way down to the laces on the inner sides of the boots. The cape came from a DCUC Starman. i chose it because of how it hung pretty much straight down. After all this sculptwork, the paint work began and FINALLY I'm proud to say he's finished. These are not black and white pics, it's all in the paint.
I cannot begin to describe how I nearly went blind with all those seams, but in the end it was totally worth the effort and Robert is happy with the finished product. This definitely tops my previous Reeves in terms of accuracy and I hope you guys like him! Thanks for looking!
This is one hell of a custom figure! Unbelievable how realistic this guy looks. he was an awesome Superman/Clark Kent and you truly did him justice with this figure. Just Fantastic!
Very nice. This is actually one of your best works yet. It's my personal favorite that's for sure. This is crazy to say considering it's black and white but you captured the colors perfectly if that make sense lol.
Nice sculpted details and very good work on the head.
HEY! Man I'm truly glad you're over here at FigureRealm. I've admired your work for several years now from when I was on Fwoosh every day. Really appreciate your encouragement on this custom. Look forward to seeing what you make next!
Thanks so much! You're probably right about an Alex Ross head...it might be a little too big for this particular base figure, but I'm definitely keeping that idea!
You're welcome. Yeah, you can see the amount of work you put into this custom. I can not describe it but this figure has an awesome “special limited edition“-Vibe to it. Again great work.
Aw thanks man - I appreciate that. Having already done what was a pretty good Reeves figure, I felt like I had to up the ante on this one, and the customer certainly appreciates all the detailing.
Thanks pal! It has literally taken MONTHS to complete this figure...probably 4 months. All the seams were made with a sewing needle, a section at a time. Thanks again!
