Saved the big boss for last. This xeno never actually appeared in any game or movie, but imagination started working OT and before long a NEW big boss crashes the party. Have always held a long fascination with Egyptian mythology/art, their rituals regarding the passage into death, and afterlife. Anubis was the Greek name of the jackal-headed Egyptian god, who conducted the dead to the underworld. Wanted to somehow weave this Egyptian theme into the design and tried to imagine what kind of monstrous hybrid would burst from the chest of a deity? head - Tsukuda Alien head keychain, with parts from a McF Techno Spawn for the mantle, added spikes from fodder upper torso/tentacles/arms/spikes - Devilman Saylos lower body - McF Jyaaku the Nightmare tail - Kenner Queen Facehugger The McF Jyaaku provided so much beautiful sculpt work and also contributed to the regal pose of this creature. Once the three heads of the Jyaaku were removed, it left 3 holes near the lower chest that needed to be filled or covered up. After a few ideas, decided to go with placing a set of huge gnashers, made from the claws of a toy skeleton dinosaur, that seriously meant business on the gnashing end! Repainted with a mix of charcoal grey and dark sepia with an added punch of metallic bronze to give the skin an almost dark glow. The tentacles at the back and the numerous spikes really adds to the heightened apprehension of touching the figure with the bare hands. Imagine it would either get gnashed to shreds or stung viciously by those tentacles - all just to get a nice pic for the Realm! Thanks for checking this out, more stranger, elliptical hybrids still raw on the way! ![]() |
