This figure has been almost a decade in completion, as I started it, then lost it, found it, moved away, moved back, etc. I always preferred the comic book version of The Russian to the one in the movie. The body, legs and arms are from an old Jakks? WWF Big Show figure, I repainted and dry-brushed the black jeans and boots to look more like the comic versions faded blue jeans, and worn brown boots. The head is from a WWF Camo-Carnage Road Dogg, I dremmeled off the hair, added the scar, and resculpted the hair and features, using my copy of "Welcome Back Frank" as a reference. The paint's are all Games Workshop. The skin was done in numerous passes and drybrushes to blend the skin tones. The Spiderweb tattoo on the neck was free-handed with a micron pen. The stripes on the shirt were freehanded without masking during one of my recent episodes of insomnia(I'm really shocked they turned out as well as they did) My main regret is that all the joints are swivels, and that I did not think to incorporate a ball joint into the neck... ![]() |
