So I didn't like the New 52 figure of John Constantine, just looked off. I had gotten some Buffy figures for nothing recently and decided to do James Marsters as Constantine since before Matt Ryan got the job and nailed it down pretty well people always used to bring his name up as an actor who could play the role. Removed the head which looks more like Billy Idol and Rutger Hauer circa Blade Runner had a love child than John Constantine, also ditched the main part of the trench-coat as it was way too flared out and cape-like. Replaced the head with a Spike head from the aforementioned BTVS fodder. Then took the main part of a vamped out Spike's coat. Now for some asinine reason DC had the figure's left sleeve rolled up and that looked ridiculous so I dremelled it off and sculpted a new sleeve with Aves' apoxie sculpt. Painted the whole of the coat Balor Brown (Citadel). Painted the neck and hands a paler shade to match the head. Gives him more of a pale I-live-in-England-and-it's-overcast-all the-time paleness. Added a cigarette made from a small section of those annoying but useful twist ties, painted Ceramite White, Balor Brown for the filter, and Abbadon Black and Fire Dragon Bright orange (all Citadel). The bottles and satchel were fodder, made the candles from apoxie sculpt and painted them Mephiston Red (Citadel). Finally gave it a couple coats of Testor's Dullcote to take the rubbery shine off the coat. Now the base he's standing on is another piece I am submitting itself so if you like this please go check out the base. Please wait... |
