Okay, I received my DC Signature Superboy figure from Mattycollector, and I was not impressed with that awful head that Mattel gave Conner. So, having been inspired by optimusleo's version that he posted back in March of 2014, I set about creating a better version of Superboy.
I took the DC Signature Superboy, and using the boil and pop method, I removed the awful head. Next, I took the head from a Terminator Salvation Marcus and removed the neck with my Exacto knife and Dremel. Next, I used the Dremel to sand down the ball joint attached to the Superboy figure's neck into a cylindrical post. Once the cylindrical post was formed, I next used my Dremel to create a small hole in the center of the head cavity. Next, I test fit the head onto the neck, and satisfied with how the head and neck fit together, I set them aside and started repainting them. Next, I gave the skin of the neck and head a coat of Testors Acryl Peach. Once the paint on the skin had dried, I gave the hair and eyebrows a coat of Testors Model Masters Flat Black. When the paint on the hair had dried fully, I gave the neck and head a nice, generous coat of Flat Clear. Lastly, when the Flat Clear had finally dried, I glued the head in place atop the neck post, and TA-DA...Conner Kent AKA Superboy!!!
Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.
