I recently sold away the only Brainiac figure that I own, from the New Krypton line. I liked the figure, but always thought it was a little too muscular and physically imposing for Brainiac. So, I set about making a custom according to how I imagine the character would be. Electro turned out to be the ideal base figure because of the bald head with a cold, calm expression and because I wouldn't have to sand off the plugs and sockets on the figure! I swapped the arms and legs for those of a bootleg Iron Man and War Machine figure respectively. I sculpted on the "plugs" on his head and the Brainiac symbol on his chest. To make the arms and legs look less Iron Man-like, I added biomechanical tendrils, which were twisty ties first painted a metallic colour and then with clear green on top of that. Painted the body a metallic dark purple to reference the original colour of his outfit in the old comics. Thanks for looking!
