So, seeing how Mattel really dropped the ball when it came to 6-inch scale Young Justice figures, especially when it came to Superboy, I decided to make a series of figures based upon his three different looks in the series, the first of these being based upon his look from the episode, "Welcome to Happy Harbor". During the fight with Mister Twister, Superboy's jacket is destroyed, and he is left wearing a variation of the mainstream DCU comic costume.
So, to do this figure, I took a Diamond select Toys Angel Season 5 Spike and removed the head. Next, I repainted the pants with Testors Acryl Bright Blue, the boots and belt with Testors Model Masters Flat Black, and the arms and neck with a home brewed batch of flesh tone paint that matched that of the Mattel Young Justice Solar Suit Superboy. When the paint dried, I gave the pants, belt, boots, arms, and neck two generous coats of flat clear. Once the flat clear had finally dried, I placed the head from a Mattel Young Justice Solar Suit Superboy on the neck. Finally, I slapped on a new chest symbol with a little glue (the symbol was made by hand at a larger size, and then photocopied and shrunk to proper size...however, unlike previous hand drawn symbols I had done before, this was drawn to more closely approximate the symbol Superboy had in Young Justice), and TA-DA...Young Justice Superboy as he appears in the episode "Welcome to Happy Harbor"!!!
Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.
