So, while I was happy that we got a Hyperion in the Marvel Legends series, I wanted one that was more like how I was first introduced to Hyperion in the Squadron Supreme Maxi-Series of the 1980s (yes, I am old enough that I bought it off the stands).
So, to do this figure, I took a standard Marvel Legends Hyperion, and using the boil and pop method, I swapped his swashbuckler boots out for those of the Marvel Legends Infinite Sentry. Once the boots were swapped, I gave them a base coat of light gray, followed by two coats of Testors Model Masters Insignia Yellow. Once the yellow paint had dried, I gave the boots a generous coat of Flat Clear. Next, I mixed up a special batch of flesh tome paint that matched the skin on Hyperion's arms, and gave his arms a slight repaint to remove the short sleeves and make his shirt more like the one that Hyperion wore in the Maxi-Series. Finally, once the flesh tone paint was dry, I gave the arms a generous coat of Flat Clear, and TA-DA...Hyperion as he appeared in the Squadron Supreme Maxi-Series of the 1980s!!!
Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.
