The Triforce has once more fallen into the Hands of Darkness, but heroic Link is nowhere to be found...

Older, somewhat wiser, and somberly skilled in the art of love, war, and politics, Link no longer needs the magical steel of Hyrulean weaponry to shield him from harm, any blade will do.

Now, long after the fall of the Dark King Ganondorf, the rise of a Hyrulean Queendom, and the tragic death of the beloved Princess Zelda, a bereaved Link wanders the unknown lands beyond the Hyrule Domains seeking meaning for a life gone so terribly astray...

...The Legend of Link begins...

With Link being all grown up in his upcoming game, Twilight Princess, I reckon'd it was time to make him. I know using Legolas as a base seems like the obvious choice to make Link (he already has the green suit and pointy ears!), so that may seem like cheating, I still had to do some significant modification to make him look right!

-I borrowed the forearms from super-poseable Boromir because they have perfect manacles I needed! I popped off Legolas's forearms at the elbow and replaced them. I gave him gloves but I can switch between hands and gloves easily.

-Legolas is too tall for a Link so I chopped out a section from each of his thighs. I drilled a hole in the thigh-stump and screwed in a small screw into the severed leg so I could stick it into the hole. Viola! Instant thigh articulation! I modified his boots to have that flap of leather at the cuffs, but since the rest of him is so detailed, the flat cuffs looked odd, so I left the boots the way they were. They look fine but I'll replace them when I find something that suit him better.

-I peeled off Legolas's long hair and braids but left the slicked back hair on top of his head alone so I could sculpt on it. I used some Sculpey to make his long cap and it turned out great. You can't see it in the pictures, due to the lighting, but even folds of fabric seem to be there! I cut some tips off the braids and stuck them onto the front of the cap before I hardened it.

-The cloak is obviously Legolas's, and it matches Link perfectly, so I kept it (and it's removable too). The arrows and bow also match so I kept those as well! The sword, scabbard, chest-strap, and shield are also borrowed from Boromir. I didn't glue the scabbard on because I like to take off his cloak and put it on his back sometimes, so instead I use double-sided tape or spirit gum to keep it on, I do the same with his shield.

-I repainted the small area on his arms between the manacles and the sleeves with silver to bring out the chainmail. I also glued some extra chainmail to the underside of the skirt where there were gaps and painted it silver too. Drybrushed his legs white so they look a little shaded, but I'm thinking of making them tan later on. I scraped off a little of the black paint on his chest to make it more green but left most of it because it looks good already. I wanted to make a "darker" Link so the colors look fine. There is fine scroll-work all over the shirt so I filled it all in with silver (again, you can't see it due to the lighting, boooo!).

Anyway, happy with how he turned out :]

Heh, no worries. I've never played any Legend of Zelda games newer than the one for Nintendo 64 anyway. *LMAO* So what do I know?

I know what you mean, I just don't like that bright green :P I like the more muted colors he has on the Twilight Princess game. I'm going to re-do this figure now that I have a little more sculpting skill.

I like the fig. You can tell a lot of time and skill went into it. My only critique is that his outfit isn't green enough to really scream "Link" at you. Mind you, it still looks good, but I'd have made it less of a forest green and more of a bright green.
This is what I think of when I think of Link.

Thank you for actually showing all of his items/weapons, unlike the games, where they just somehow disappear...
