I love creepy space tree Groot, and even though I loved the Guardians movie, I needed a much less Disney Groot to smash his way through my Legends collection. Sara Pichelli's version of the team was by far my favorite, especially Groot and Angela. She made them look so bad a$$ that I knew I had to bring them to 3D life! Groot took a ton of carving and sanding to prep the Surfer base figure, removing all muscles, then adding at least an inch to his arms and feet. I drilled holes and posted in wires shaped like branches which I then built up with Milliput. Three full packs of Milliput, ten sculpting sessions and two sleepless weeks later, my vision of Groot was a reality.
