I picked up a set of the Neca boot leg turtles and I was surprised that only one had a sticky joint. I was able to get a replacement sent and they let me keep the original figure so I decided to make a Slash. I wanted it to be a little original since a lot of people have made some bad A** looking Slash from this recipe. it was my favorite figure back in the day and I wanted to pay homage to that figure and to the Archie run Slash. I had a old skool figure that was pretty busted up but complete with all his armor and claws so I salvaged the parts off that the figured, found a way to give it that classic no neck feel sculpted over 170 warts and textiles on him, the spikes on his knee pads, his toe claws and completed his bandanna on the back of his head to hide the space between. attached a magnet to his shell and back after I cautiously grinded off all the excess plastic. I used a metallic teal and sea blue with a flat coat for paint, added a cool collection of eyeballs fingers and tongues in a jar after all he is like us a collector. found a blade that resembled his knife and a Mace from the Nick Slash finished it off with his Psycho Sia and his belt that I had to boil to fit ( be careful ) and a sculpted Binky and bam a Neca Slash straight from the original Plamates toy line. I love how it turned out
Great Slash! He was definitely a stand-out figure from the original Playmates line. I've been wanting to track down some of those knockoff NECA turtles since the originals are crazy expensive now. Great job!
oh agreed. I was lucky to get a flawed one with my set and to be honest the bootlegs are just as good as the ones Neca put out in fact they are a little better because the belly shell plastic let them use the waist articulation. and ebay has them for about 12 a turtle its a little cheaper if you buy all 4 and they have the colored or all red bandannas to choose from. im just glad they let me keep the Ralp because he turned into a amazing Slash
