Do you have a tutorial for making the wings? Like how did you get all the little ridges on there? They have a nice texture

Thank you! I have more pics, but being new to the site, haven't explored/had time to post them up as a tutorial.
Basically it's just liquid latex painted over the glove material, let to dry, and then painting on the texture, building it up, let it dry, paint on some more, until I had the texture I wanted. It sticks and retains the flex you need for wings. I originally tried a couple of other methods; cutting mesh forms, texting different materials, then in frustration and desperation gave up and did the dishes, and came upon the rubber gloves. You never know where inspiration will strike!

Excellent Sauron dude! I used some Mega Blocks dragon wings on mine, but after seeing how nice your scratch built wings look, I wish I had made my own! Awesome sculpting. Way to show the savage Land some love.

I bow to the Master of the Savage Land! Thanks for the comments - Savage Land stories were always some of my favorite as a kid, so when I started customizing I knew I wanted to tackle a few! And I had a friend who is an obsessive collector, and I wanted to gift him something unique. I didn't have access to any premade wings or probably would have gone with that - I did score a ton of them later at a Gsale, and a couple are pretty good for Sauron, but I really loved the Lizard figure as a base, so would want to find another one of those if I did another. I'm of a mind that I use whatever I've got at hand!

I did a Shanna, too, but it was a total failure, but haven't completely given up on her yet, she still is in my fodder drawer, so I might get back to her. But your Shanna is perfect, I'd have to step up my game to win that beauty pageant!

This is probably my favorite sauron, flawless head sculpt and those wings rock.

I thank you! I think a lot of it comes from having the right fodder. The Lizard is perfect for that. You know when you have a piece you try to make work and it just never works, and it's frustrating - well this figure was just the opposite, a lot of fun to see all the pieces come together!
