Basically, just a bunch of sculpting and painting. I needed to use some fodder because I have lots of useless junk around and need space, so when I saw Captain Ron's Maverick I thought, hey, I have a spare Scorpion to massacre!

It's all Scorpion with lots of bits sculpted. The shoulder pads are from a MGS figure and they move like the Iron Man pads so the arms can still be posed (stick a nail in the back so they swivel). Backpack from a Bionicle thing, I just need something to cover the hole in the back :] Sprayed all black then dry-brushed like crazy. The hair looks better than I thought it would, by the way, is Maverick really blond? I don't even know! Joints were sealed with Krazy Glue, but they didn't seem to be rubbing anyway.

Oh man, you mean this thing?
I can already see Armored Luthor or Mr Freeze or Colossus legs would work, maybe some Street Fighter figure for the arms, I'd just sculpt the main body and use some ugly Barbie figure for the head inside

Heheh! I see what you mean about the confusion with Dredd. The jaw & mask have a very Dredd look to them... gotta say though, I love this take on Maverick, nicely done!

Nope, just looked at Captain Ron's version and went to work. There's a more armored version that would be cool to make but I'm just not that interested in the character to go through the trouble

nice doc, I like it! though I do think the hair looks a little flat, but other than that he looks great! sculpting are perfect and so are the paint apps. how about layering the hair a bit? more dimension?
