I've been looking for a good base figure for Ares, one of Wonder Woman's archnemeses, and Funko's Jaime Lannister figure with its exceptionally smarmy rendition of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's smirk lent itself handily to the God of War (not Kratos) himself. Thankfully the aesthetic of Jaime's armour meant that Jedd the Jedi didn't have to help me out with any sculpting this time round, although I'm greatly indebted to him for all the help with this repaint.

Ares's colour scheme is largely based off that in the 2009 animated movie, down to the red cape and silver hair. Much to my chagrin, I couldn't find my Wonder Woman v2 figure to pose him with, but it's just as well given that the Jaime figure is actually kind of short, necessitating a bit of trick photography on my part.
