I'm a pretty big Cap fan and tend to buy most of his figures whether I really want to or not... lol. Hasbro has their new Onslaught wave figure coming, but I wanted to make my own version using the same TBML Series 1 Cap head sculpt (BEST Cap head. Ever.). Reworked the Grim Reaper base to allow for less rub in its very tight shoulder sockets, and painted it up. Still need to add a gloss coat over him (used Vallejos medium blue, and like always, their paint keeps rubbing off! Anyone else have this issue with their stuff?). Moving on to yet again another new Classic Cap display default, but man, this GR body is perfect for him. Planning on using this base for a lot of characters, but be warned: they used some super strong glue in the upper torso, and it's pretty tricky cracking him open without stressing the plastic out! Please wait... |

Testors acrylic is decent, but you still need to do prep work on joints, and at that point any acrylic would work with a coat of sealer. I use P3 because its the cheapest and brushes on smoothly.
Also, I think they sonically weld figures now, maybe a little glue on the pegs inside. Theyre tough to crack open and just leave ugly weld lines.
