Scarlet Spider's head + Pizza Spidey's body = a reason for people to finally stop calling the Superposeable "Campbell" Spidey a "McFarlane Spidey." Heh.
I had to modify the head quite a bit, as the Scarlet Spider I got happened to be a factory error (the head was full of plastic residue/wasn't drilled properly, which prevented the peg from going in and only allowed the head to kind of sit atop the neck ball - really annoying).
You are correct! This is actually the case with a good number of artists (Larsen's Spidey sometimes even ditches the blue highlights entirely), and was how Spidey was originally intended to look, even during his first few appearances. The decision to make blue the main color instead of black was simply a matter of personal preference trumping source accuracy.
Well, it still looks really good It's funny about how the original suit was supposed to be red and black with comic blue highlights, and the suit eventually just became red and blue with occasional black shadowing. It remidns me of how Batman was black and grey initially, which makes sense for a bat, but then the art eventually got to a point of using blue, whihc became his suit for a while
Thanks! I used a very fine drawing pen. Getting the lines straight was no easy task, unfortunately. Took me half a day to finish the weblines all over his body.
