Scratch-built Technodrome from the original 80´ TMTN TV show. I always wanted a screen-accurate Technodrome, but during the show, different pictures were painted, sometimes with different cannons, bigger or smaller eye-sensor, more or less pods for transport modules etc. So the base for my Technodrome was one of the most used pictures during the seasons (through 1 - 7) and the model from the PC game Smash-Up, combined with some other pictures, especially from the Season 3 and 7 finale.

The Technodrome is build from a polystyrene sphere, plastic, cardboard and a lot of things of everyday life were used too (ballpoint, the "ball" from a roll-on deodorant etc.)

The Technodrome is 10" high a cca 10" long (cca 25x23 cm).
All cannons are movable: you can move the left, right and front main trident-shaped laser cannons up and down (they are put into a groove), you can rotate the upper secondary cannons and you can rotate the surveillance eye-ball sensor.

First, I cut the sphere. I glued the cardboard plates on the sphere in three different layers. All of the plates in these layers are covered with cut-out plastic plates, that had to fit to the original cardboard plates and to the different shapes that were created by the layering of the cardboard plates.

After this I glued the grooves for the three main cannons. All gaps are filled with putty and smoothed.

The chassis is also made of plastic and cardboard, champagne-caps and ballpoints. The body is glued to the chassis.

The Technodrome is painted with standard Revell colors, the "Foot" logo is printed and cut-out.

In the last picture, there are photos of the building process.

Certainly an ambitious piece. I like the layering effect of the outer hull and the color scheme is unusual versus the gray we've been trained to accept. This is cool.
